About Us

Joan Zombek & Debbi Jennings, co-owners, Suede.

In 2007, friends and co-workers, Joan Zombek and Debbi Jennings, decided to fulfill a lifelong dream and open Suede, Westchester’s most fashion-forward and celebrated women’s designer boutique.

Westchester residents themselves (Debbi, from Larchmont, and Joan, from Scarsdale), they had a keen sense for the local retail landscape, and a good understanding of their prospective customers.  They knew that, when it comes to fashion, Westchester women are more urban than suburban, and crave a decidedly more cosmopolitan retail experience.  “Downtown”, in town, so to speak.  Unfortunately, at the time women really did need to hop that MTA and subway it down to NOLITA to find the hottest and most current styles.

However, with the opening of Suede, no longer do Westchester women need to travel into Manhattan to stay on top of the most important fashion trends.  From jeans and cords to skirts and black-tie, Suede has it all.  And every collection, every item in the store, is carefully curated by these two veteran fashionistas, so that their customers always look their best and stay “on-trend.”

“Downtown”, in town.  Yep, that much pretty much sums up Suede and its two owners.
